Groundhog Day—I’m referring to the movie; not the holiday (cause who cares about those dumb little furry creatures anyway? Here’s a tip critter: you’re not going to see your shadow so go back to sleep (preferably where someone doesn’t require something of you every five minutes!)).
Ever feel like you’re in a rut? Yep, it’s rut-central here—different day, same scenario. I’ll paint the scene for you: more and more snow prompting our annual conversation of “Why do we live here?”; more and more germs passing from child to child prompting the mobilization of the “puke patrol” (me and Dan—nothing like those 3:00 a.m. puke parties where Avery goes through three pairs of pajamas in 30 minutes); more and more cancelled play dates, appointments and other fun outings prompting Susan to go nuts and write about critters….;) Yep, all you can do is laugh, yell, or both.
The upswing is that today’s Friday and the snow is supposed to end today; the Superbowl is Sunday and we’re having some friends over to watch commercials with us; and Dan turns 30 on February 4 so the twenty-something jokes will come to a screeching halt.
And, besides the perpetual case of “hiccups” (what Avery calls throwing up), the girls are doing pretty well. When Romey smiles her whole face lights up, and her eyes twinkle. Romey’s also cooing, and continues to grow and grow—I’ve already started packing away some baby clothes, and find myself admiring her little fat rolls ;). Avery’s bored, and continues to keep us up on our toes, but I love the fact that she’s passionate and tenacious—two qualities that will serve her well throughout her life. Overall, she’s a silly kid, and we love that about her.
Well, back to admiring the snow, and doing something similar to what we did yesterday. Spring can’t come quickly enough!
